Tradingpost Racing is looking to continue its recent run of form this weekend at the Phillip Island 300 which has seen the team clean-sweep the last two events on the calendar. The team is undefeated since the start of April and heads to Phillip Island with the sole aim of continuing its front-running form. Will Davison wants to regain the championship lead he lost in Perth due to the incident which took him out of contention in Race 1. Mark Winterbottom stood on every step of the podium in Perth and wants to continue his consistent run which seems him a clear third in the points. This weekend will be the first official appearance for endurance co-drivers who will participate in a special ‘Practice 0’ – a 30-minute session dedicated to co-driver track time. Davison’s co-driver John McIntyre will be in action along with Steve Richards in Winterbottom’s factory-prepared Falcon. … Read more

Will Davison and the Tradingpost Racing Team bounced back from yesterday’s disappointing result to win both races today and arguably one of the most exciting last lap battles in recent V8 Supercars history to secure FPR its third 1-2 finish this year. Team-mate Mark Winterbottom continued his fine form by finishing third and second respectively in today’s two races to add to his race seven win yesterday.
Ford Performance Racing’s Mark Winterbottom has dominated Race 7 of the V8 Supercars Championship today, winning by 3.2s over Jamie Whincup. The win puts Winterbottom equal with Todd Kelly on the all-time V8 Supercars winners list in 14th – just one win away from the great Jim Richards tally. After running second for the first half of the race, a supreme pit stop on lap 30 by his FPR crew saw Winterbottom fire out with the race lead after all stops were complete. Tradingpost team mate – Will Davison had a less fortunate day after being involved in a racing incident on the final turn of lap 1 when he was hit from behind by another competitor. The hit speared Davison into Garth Tander, who had spun ahead, puncturing his front left Dunlop tyre and breaking the front left suspension arm on his Tradingpost FPR Ford. Fortunately his crew scrambled … Read more

Tradingpost Racing heads to Perth for the fourth event on the V8 Supercars calendar on a high after clean-sweeping the last round in Hamilton with wins for Will Davison and Mark Winterbottom. Series leader Davison scored his first podium for the team at Barbagallo Raceway last year in an otherwise poor outing for the team, though the team believes it returns in much better shape. One year on FPR leads both tables and the Dunlop Series points and is looking to continue the form which has seen it claim seven of the 10 main series races run so far in 2012. Barbagallo Raceway has undergone a transformation since the team last visited with the construction of an entirely new pit lane facility on the circuit’s infield. DRIVERS’ VIEW Mark Winterbottom – #5 Orrcon Steel FPR Ford: “It has been a busy few weeks and while it is a long … Read more

Tradingpost Racing’s Will Davison has extended his lead at the head of the V8 Supercars Championship table with a come from behind win at the final ever ITM400 Hamilton. Will started an unplanned sixth after an error in the top 10 shootout, though a rapid start had him second by the third turn. He then locked in battle with Garth Tander for the opening sector of the race before gaining the lead at turn one on lap 27. From there he controlled the race until the safety car was deployed in the last 20 laps, erasing his hard-fought 3.8-second lead. At the restart he fended off Tander to win comfortably – his third victory of the season and one that gives him a 30 point series lead. Team-mate Mark Winterbottom made a similarly good start, though his race ended prematurely. Mark started ninth, but by avoiding opening lap contact which … Read more

Tradingpost Racing has dominated the opening day of action at the final ITM400 Hamilton as the team locked out the top three places with Will Davison heading Mark Winterbottom and the FPR sister entry of David Reynolds in a gripping battle for top spot. Will and Mark traded best times in the closing minutes before the championship leader eventually took top spot – more than one second under the old practice lap record. The form of FPR’s Ford Falcons was confirmed with customer Tony D’Alberto taking his FPR-built car to fifth. Will and Mark spent significant time working on hard tyre pace before switching to Dunlop’s soft tyre rubber late which triggered the battle for top spot. DRIVERS’ VIEW Will Davison – #6 Tradingpost FPR Ford Practice 3: 1m23.10s – 1st Practice 4: 1m21.79s – 1st ”Today is an unbelievable start to the event and the result is a … Read more

Tradingpost Racing drivers Mark Winterbottom and Will Davison will both celebrate significant milestones this weekend at the ITM400 Hamilton in New Zealand where the team aims to maintain its championship-leading position. Winterbottom will start his 250th V8 Supercars race on Sunday and Davison his 200th as the series makes its fifth and final visit to the north island street circuit. FPR is the only team to have more than one driver claim pole at the tough street track. The team endured mixed results in last year’s rain hit event, though with better weather expected and a much improved factory Falcon, the whole team has high expectations. The ITM400 Hamilton features a top 10 shootout on Saturday followed by a 200-kilometre race on Saturday and another on Sunday. DRIVERS’ VIEW Mark Winterbottom – #5 Orrcon Steel FPR Ford: “I am looking forward to going to Hamilton for the last … Read more

Tradingpost Racing scored a podium finish in the Tasmanian Challenge with Will Davison despite an up and down day for the team which saw Mark Winterbottom miss out on a potential win following a stall during his second and final pit stop. Will held the lead near half-distance from Mark, though braking issues saw the pair switch places on lap 38. Will lost further ground ahead of his pit stop, though was never far from the lead. Mark pitted from first only to stall his engine. The resultant delay saw him drop to fifth, robbing him of a chance to take a possible race win. Will jumped Shane van Gisbergen and although he lost the place on lap 60 he held on to snare his fourth podium from as many championship races. Earlier Will missed pole by just 0.015s after his last-lap effort fell short of making it two FPR poles in … Read more
